Cotton Seed is the seed of the cotton plant, whose mature seeds are brown ovoids weighing about a tenth of a gram. Gossypol is the active component extracted from cotton plant (genus Gossypium), which accounts for about 1.5% of the seeds in weight, and is mostly used as medicine in the form of Gossypol Acetate (cotton seed extract), with function of permeating cells and acting as an inhibitor for several dehydrogenase enzymes.
Cosmetics & Personal Care: Cotton Seed Extract used in moisturizing serums, creams and lotions, acts as skin‑conditioning and hydrating ingredient for dry skin, also applied in hair‑care formulations.
Feed additive: Widely used in animal feed.
