Pectin is found in all higher plants. In plant cell wall, pectin mainly covalently binds with cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin to form propectin, which is a structural substance of plants and plays a crucial role in maintaining the structure and hardness of plants. At present, the raw materials used to produce commercial pectin are mainly citrus and apple peel residue.
Low ester pectin: Taking advantage of the abundant sunflower origin resources in Xinjiang, the pectin was extracted from sunflower dish and dried by vacuum and low temperature. The pectin was lighter in color and better in solubility.
